"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." — John 8:12

I stood in front of hundreds of students last week, and I kept thinking about darkness.

Not the poetic kind. The real kind. The kind that sits on a teenager's chest at 2 AM when they are wondering if anyone sees them. The kind that whispers to a young girl that she is too much and not enough at the same time. The kind that tells a boy his future is already decided by his circumstances.

I know that darkness. I have sat in it.

But here is what I have learned: darkness is not the absence of hope. Darkness is just the absence of light. And light? Light only needs the smallest crack to get in.

When Jesus said He is the light of the world, He was not speaking to religious scholars in a temple. He was speaking to ordinary people who knew what it meant to stumble. He was saying: you do not have to find your way out alone. I AM the way out.

At the school assembly, I watched faces change. Not because I said anything clever. Because the light did what light does. It exposed the lies and revealed the truth: these children are seen, they are loved, and they have purpose.

One student came up to me afterward with tears in her eyes. She said, "Nobody ever told me God had a plan for me." Beloved, how many of our children are walking in darkness simply because no one brought them the light?

You do not need a stage. You do not need a microphone. You just need to carry the light into the dark places. Your classroom. Your home. Your street.

The light of the world lives in you. Let Him shine.

I am the light bearer.

You are the light bearer.

We are the light bearers.
