đHE đOUL CAN BE HEAVY SOMETIMES đ
I once asked the Lord, âWhy does anxiety and depression seem to be at an all-time highâeven here in Africa where such things were once whispered away as âmental illnessâ?â
His response pierced my heart:
âSince the age of information, man no longer sees the need for Me.â
We can now diagnose ourselves online, find treatment without prayer, succeed without surrender, and boast in knowledge while starving in spirit.
Then the Lord added:
âI allowed the restlessness of the mind to remind humanity how empty life is without Me.â
Thatâs why billionaires, people with everything can still end their lives. Because everything without God is still nothing đ
(Let that sit and marinate for a moment.)
Even in the Church, terms like depression and panic disorder are becoming alarmingly familiar. If youâre struggling mentally, donât let religion shame you, let Jesus heal you.
đś âJesus take over, I cannot do it by myselfâŚâ â Theophilus Sunday
That worship lyric has become my lifeline. Sometimes itâs not about being strong. Itâs about surrendering to the One who holds your soul together.
We often say, âI can do all things,â but forget the crucial ending:
ââŚthrough Christ who strengthens me.â (Philippians 4:13)
And Jesus didnât mince words:
âWithout Me, you can do nothing.â (John 15:5)
So talk to Him, sis. Open up, my brother. He knows your pain, even the ones buried in your childhood. He doesnât judge your tears, your numbness, or your panic.
Maybe youâre struggling to love your own child. Maybe youâre afraid of tomorrow. Maybe youâre so tired, even joy feels exhausting.
Youâre not broken beyond repair.
Youâre not alone.
đď¸ He is the Master at lifting burdens.
đŹ Healing starts with honesty. Wholeness begins with Jesus.
